Before finding connected parenting I found myself spiraling down to where I felt like I was drowning. I was so overwhelmed; I felt isolated and alone. My marriage and my relationships were suffering, and I wasn’t able to be the joyful mom I had imagined myself. After finding others who were practicing connected parenting, I realized I wasn’t alone, and that there were practical steps I could take each day to get back to the person I wanted to be. It was like coming up for air after being underwater for a long time. Now I have hope and joy again, and my self confidence has returned. I am able to be the mom I want to be and enjoy my family and relationships again.

We're here to offer hope, share wisdom, and mentor you along the way.
You are not alone.

Between the two of us, we represent all three parts of the adoption triad.
We've really been there.

We've been around the block a couple times with kids by birth, adoption, and foster care.
And lived to tell about it.

About Us

Birthmom and Adoptive Mom
Russ and I are parents of twelve by birth and adoption (ages 11-31), and more through foster care. As a Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®) Practitioner, I walk alongside families with kids from “hard places.” I love hosting big family dinners but hate grocery shopping, which is a problem.

Adoptee and Adoptive Mom
Patrick and I are parents to six by both birth and adoption (ages 11-20). Our open door policy has blessed us with lots of honorary family members along the way. We are Empowered to Connect Parent Trainers, but we mess up more than we get it right. I hate cleaning, and I love extra-crispy fries.
